What Architecture Means

Architecture is more important than many people may care to believe. Buildings act as a constant reminder of our mastery of the natural world, and our innate desire to build and create. Architecture bridges and embeds this powerful idea with true human creativity and aesthetics.

Architecture is about space, it's about scale and relation, but it's mostly about the feeling you get when gazing at a beautiful building, or  walk through its interior.

The buildings here at Tufts have, for the most part, existed long before you or I, and will likely remain long after we leave. They have been the site of countless discoveries, shenanigans, and everything in between. Their design, the functions they serve, and of course, the feelings they provoke are always relevant and pervasive to those that use these spaces.
